The first color baseball cards of the post War era were the 1948/1949 Leaf set. These cards measured 2-3/8 x 2-7/8 (inches) and feature a color player portrait on the front with the players name at the bottom. The backs contain a player bio and a felt pennant offer. The cards are skip numbered meaning that not all numbers are present in the order. There are 98 cards in the set but the card numbers go up to 168. Exactly half of these cards (49) are much tougher to find than the other half. |
