Bowman increased its set to 240 numbered cards in 1949. These cards measure 2-1/16 x 2-1/2 (inches) and include a black and white player portrait that has an overprinted team and uniform colors. The background has various solid colors. The backs contain the card number, players name, position, team and a short biography. The backs of some cards can be found in grey or white cardboard.

Beginning with card 109, the players name was added to the front of the card. There are 12 cards with different variations including cards #4, 78, 83, 85, 88, 98, 109, 124, 127, 132 and 143.
