1987 Fleer contains 660 cards. The card fronts feature a color player photograph surrounded by a blue border that gradually turns lighter along the sides. The blue returns on the bottom border. The players name and position can be found along the top border. The team logo is along the bottom right. The backs of these cards are printed in blue, red and white. The back also contain a new feature called "Pro Scouts Report" which rates the players batting or pitching skills.

Subsets include Highlight cards (HL) cards 625-643, Major League Prospects (MLP) cards 644-653 and Team Checklists (CL). This set was issued with team logo stickers.
