1989 Fleer contains 660 cards. The card fronts feature a color player photograph with a grey and white striped background/border. The players name and position are found along the top left. The team logo is found at the top right. The backs are printed in yellow, grey and black on white card stock. The backs contain the typical player stats and a 'Did you Know' tid bit. The backs also contain a before and After the "All Star Break" stat line for the player.

Subsets include Highlight cards (HL) cards 628-639, Major League Prospects (MLP) cards 640-653 and Team Checklists (CL). This set was issued with team logo stickers.
