The early days of baseball cards presented some of the greatest artwork in American history. Baseball cards were first produced in the late 19th Century and become popular items during the early 20th Century. Baseball cards were first issued as premiums in packs of candy and tobacco products and used as advertisements. Some of the greatest names in Baseball history have their image captured on pieces of cardboard advertising. These cards are now 100 years or older and are exceptionally rare, especially in nice condition.
